Fans have different opinion about every members since fans themselves have different backgrounds. I don’t think it’s possible to really know each members that well. For some fans, they love members they see on theater or maybe the ones with best interaction on handshake event. For me, I like members with ability to talk and react accordingly to many situation and have above average sports ability.

At the end of SKE48 Zero Position #51, there’s a clip about Futamura Haruka participating in this year’s kunoichi. I just learned this word at the beginning of this year. You can say it is “female ninja” in English. When I encountered this word for the first time, and knew the origin of the word, I was fascinated by it. I told my friend who also learned Japanese at the time, and even if he amazed by the origin of the word, he already knew the word. Since I’ve been translating some AKB48 group TV program, I thought it’s best if I randomly watch old episode of AKBINGO! and other TV programs to find inspiration about how some expression in Japanese translated into English but still feels natural to English speaker.

In this AKBINGO! #78, Matsui Jurina vs 10 Assassins. Both Matsui Rena and Matsui Jurina did some wordplay. Even Sata was impressed by Rena. The one I’m talking about here, is at the 5th round. One Day, A Thousand Autumns

So, I just watched NMB to Manabukun #87 and I found some interesting wordplay. This special episode is about measuring NMB48 members’ academic ability. It’s started with problem about National Language as you can see on the image above, which can be translated into “Write a sentence by using four-character idiom 一日千秋.” The literal meaning for this four-character idiom is “one day, a thousands autumns,” but here’s the meaning according to JapanDict.
